    Beautiful Trailer.

If you had some nice slow song/nasheed playing, it would also help towards the whole concept of the trailer.

    But, its great!

Salaam alaikum Brother. Mashallah. I am glad you have this trailer. Can I post it on Muslimspace? PLEASE. I have been trying my best to keep people aware of the need. So few seem to get it, even within the Ummah, that the disaster is as Brother Ruben said, “Still a disaster”.

I would love to promote your sneak preview on my pages, as a small effort to help. May Allah protext & guide those still on the ground down on the coast & may Allah awaken the Ummah (especially those in the US) to the need of the people (both Muslims & Non-Muslims) in the disaster area.

    Salaam alaikum, Sister Anisah

yes, by all means…post it everywhere you can inshaAllah.

Is there anything you need from me to help spread it around?

  4. Zahra Billoo Says:

    Awesome.

I was in New Orleans in March. And subhan’Allah since then it’s been irking me that Muslims have for the most part forgotten the ongoing Gulf Coast devastation.

    Jazak’Allah khair for doing this.

I’ll be blogging the preview at http://muslamics.blogspot.com. Please feel free to let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.

Salaam alaikum, if its possible to have the video’s code so I can place the video with a link back to this site, I’d appreciate it. That way I can place it on my “video/movie” section of my pages, yet still give people the means to come to your site & leave comments.

You can send the code you used to embed it here on the page to my email address. anisahdavid@sociologist.com if you are willing.

    Salaam alaikum,

Wanted to invite you to explore as a documentary film maker another “blight” on the American social system.

I am working with a project that will be traveling to Fort Thompson, SD, which is the heart of the Crow Creek Sioux reservation. It has the sad reputation of being the most impoverished reservation “funded” by the federal government. IT also has the highest suicide rate; highest unemployment rate at over 70%. They suffer from inadequate fed. build housing that is contaminated by black mold (and no feds are helping to decontaminate them). And there is so much more that people need to be aware of. So if you are interested, feel free t contact me.

    Salaam, Anisah

  12. AlBaraa Says:

I will certainly consider it for the future inshaAllah.

  13. Sarah Says:

Salaams, Just wanted to say I loved the clip for the film. It was great. I hope that this film touches everyone that sees it, and gives people the chance to try to understand what had happend and what still is going on there. In Sha Allah can you please send the whole film to Sister Jane Aslam and tell her to send it to her daughter Sarah. I would love to view the whole thing when it comes out. Thanks!

  14. AlBaraa Says:

    I will inshaAllah :-)

  15. nafsee Says:

Nice trailer, Masha’Allah =) I didn’t know that there are still issues in rebuilding the New Orleans area nearly two years after Katrina hit. The media hasn’t addressed the issue as much. I also like the stories and coverage of Muslims in this area and how they have made a contribution to society. Great idea and nice footage so far =)

  16. aarij Says:

    as Salam alaikum bro

may Allah bless you in your life, this is an awesome initiative.

when will you be done? i want to buy the documentary and show it during our annual islamic awareness week at university.

  17. AlBaraa Says:

I intend to have it done by dec inshaAllah.

  18. Sarah Says:

    As salaam alaikum

I just watched your sneak peak. My good friend in Baton Rouge who helped with organizing supplies after Katrina told me about what you were filming and all I would like to say is thank you! I just went for the first time to the Mississippi coast where we lost our summer retreat…more specifically Waveland. I invite you to tour there and see how there are no water lines, signs of life..etc. My childhood retreat is now in the gulf
Have you noticed the differance of the rebuilding in Metairie/Kenner to New Orleans…quite a shocker I must say.
Jazak Allah Khair for your efforts
    Wassalaam
    Sarah
