Storytelling - Operation Homecoming
Posted May 01, 07 by AlBaraaThe other day I watched an episode of PBS’s America at a Crossroads titled, “Operation Homecoming”

The episode was made up of many segments of the stories of different soldiers. There were three that interested me the most:
Road Work
Seeing Roadwork was an inspiration for me in the fact that I teach digital story telling to school kids. The method of taking pictures with voice over narration is a very effective story telling technique. Check out Silk City Media Workshop for the stuff that students have produced.
Aftermath
Men in Black
“Men in Black” was of special interest to me. When I saw it, I immediately remembered Homeworld. When I first installed the game and watched the intro sequence. I fell in love with it:
It was spring of 2003 when I had begun my project to started video that mimicked the homeworld style. The only video making program I knew at the time was flash, and swish. I didn’t want to put in the time to learn flash, so I went with swish. In about a week and a half I ended up with this:
